You Should Run on January 22

Registration for two popular road races has opened today (October 24) - you'll need to choose one or the other since they both take place on January 22. 

YOKOTA FROSTBITE ROAD RACE (Tokyo)

Jan 22 | Registration Oct 24 - Nov 13 (or until full)

• Very popular road race hosted by the Yokota Striders at Yokota Air Base in west Tokyo - closest train station is Fussa.
• If you are NOT a Japanese or US national, double-check that you will be allowed on Yokota AB. In the past, they have been unable to permit access to nationals from Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, most Middle Eastern nations, etc. 
• In previous years, service members, dependents, and civilian contractors have been able to register in English through a separate registration and different pricing; you should double-check this availability before registering via Japanese platforms. 
• In recent years, the Yokota Striders have built up a shaky reputation in communications via email and Facebook Messenger - good luck contacting them

SETO-NAIKAI TURTLE FULL MARATHON (Kagawa)
Jan 22 | Registration Oct 24 - Dec 11 (or until full)

• Takes place on Shodo Island, which requires a ferry to access 
• Medium-scale road race capped at 3,100 athletes
• All distances are a flat fee of 5,000 JPY

SHONAN FUJISAWA 10-MILER (Kanagawa)
Jan 22 | Registration Aug 19 - Oct 31 (or until full)
10-miler (16k), 2.2k

• If you're from the area or know the Miura Peninsula well, this particular race involves running the very flat (and often windy) 134 along Enoshima
• We don't have many ten-milers, but it's a fun in-between distance and this course is about as flat as they come
• On a clear day (which it most likely will be), you'll enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and the Miura Peninsula

That's three road races that should scintillate most runners (maybe not the trail folks)...skip the FOMO and pencil in a road race on January 22.
